Counseling. Although detoxification can cleanse the body of impurities, its magic ends there. It cannot help when the matter is psychological in nature. It has been a common knowledge that the root of most substance addiction, whether for alcohol or drugs, can be traced back to a person's psyche - what he or she feels and thinks.

Counseling heals the spirit, as they say. And this is what teenagers need to battle addiction.

Support. To prevent relapse from occurring, a treatment center must have a support system in place for 'graduates' of its alcohol and drug addiction treatment program. This support should be in a form of continuous counseling as an outpatient and maintaining confidentiality, especially when a patient requests, so. Job hunting can also be another form of support that a treatment center may afford, especially now that the federal government gives special treatment to rehabilitation graduates, helping them in finding jobs to start a great life anew.
